THE CLIENT

Miller Homes Southern, part of the Miller Homes Group, based in regional offices in Basingstoke and building new homes across Hampshire, Sussex and Buckinghamshire.

THE CHALLENGE

To promote the first round of applications being opened to the public for Miller Homes’ Community Fund 2023, attracting attention, awareness and interest to the campaign for local charities and community groups to submit their applications towards the £10,000 pot provided by the housebuilder.

OUR APPROACH

Through a targeted PR campaign, media content was created and distributed to the target audience of B2C news titles across Hampshire, Sussex and Bucks.

The content’s primary ambition was to notify local charities and community groups that the applications had opened for Miller Homes’ Community Fund, and directing them where to apply via the Miller Homes corporate website. Creating backlinks to that website then became the secondary aim, followed by encouraging readers of the story to visit the Miller Homes website to find out more about the company more widely and to know where they were and are building across the Southern regional patch.

We achieved significant media coverage for the client in the key regional titles in both Hampshire and Sussex. This led to greater exposure for the Miller Homes website, social media channels and the corporate site where the Community Fund applications live.

THE RESULTS

Miller Homes Southern received a record-breaking number of applicants for the first round of the 2023 Community Fund, with almost 200 different charities and businesses putting themselves forward for a slice of the £10,000 donation pot.

The client was able to support several local charities and groups, including Solent Mind, St Francis Animal Welfare, and Longwick C of E School.

PR coverage spanned the regional patch and follow-up stories created with the recipients of the Community Fund monies, leading into the next round of funding in late 2023.

Media attention for the Community Fund stories reached an audience spanning 18.2 million, with 12 engagements and four backlinks created by the media coverage.
