Canva May 2024 updates

By Joe TabbIn Social mediaPosted May 29, 2024
The Canva logo

Canva Create was hosted last week, and with so many new features coming online, it’s almost a brand-new platform.

You can watch the full, one hour presentation below, or read our quick overview instead.

New Canva homepage

This brings with it a new home page, sidebar, editor and collaboration feature, releasing soon, which allows teams to work together on a graphic and see the changes your colleagues are making in real-time.

This should improve overall CTR for websites which are enhanced by a strong SEO foundation, as Google will favour those sites.

More app integrations

There are more than 100 new app integrations coming, including Meta Design Check, which allows you to optimise ad creatives instantly, as well as work management tools such as Slack, Asana and Monday.com.

New and improved Magic Studio

Magic Media is a text-to-graphic AI tool, so you can create exactly what you need for your creatives.

Easier video editing is coming! This AI tool chops up your videos into what it thinks are snappy clips, so you can easily remove sections that are less engaging, or even quickly reorder these clips.

Canva is also introducing a tool that lets you eliminate background noise and create high-quality, clear audio.

Resize and Magic Switch, which is an existing feature, is going to be more accurate. Canva is also adding the option to transform any design into a personalised document.

Magic Grab allows you to select any element or aspect in your photo to resize and move it.

Magic Write has been upgraded to generate clear, impactful text in your unique tone of voice.

On-brand layout suggestions will appear, and you’ll be able to apply them to presentations.

For Pro users, these features all come with your subscription, but if you are not a pro user, you’ll need to upgrade for most of them.

Industry-specific templates and features

In Canva’s own words: “For big or small teams and the Jack of all Trades, get the job done with industry-specific templates, features and apps all bundled up and ready to use.”

These industries include marketing, sales, HR and creative. The example below shows what a ‘Marketing’ template might look like.
