October PR coverage highlights at R&Co Communications

There were no PR horrors for our media relations team to tackle during October, as we spent the month carving out positive press coverage for our clients.

Find out more about the regional, trade and broadcast coverage we secured.

Good news for new homes

Our new property PR client, William Davis Homes, received the green light on a planning application to build 128 new homes in Nanpantan, Leicestershire.

Our team wasted no time building a bank of media coverage on the approval in regional titles, including The Business Desk and East Midlands Business Link.

All eyes on Luca - potentially, 29 million pairs!

Did you see our story about Luca this month? It was hard to miss the loveable Bloodhound whose droopy face appeared on most regional newspaper websites after his facelift went viral.

Luca struggled to see because of the skin around his eyes, until undergoing surgery at Veterinary Vision’s animal hospital in Sunderland. Thanks to the work of these amazing vets, Luca can see clearly, and thanks to our veterinary PR team, you get to see his incredible transformation.

His adorable new face and unusual story were covered by Newcastle World and news sites up and down the country, reaching a potential audience of 29 million.

And our survey says…

We worked with Europe’s biggest customs broker, Customs Support Group, to launch a major new report into the biggest challenges impacting international trade.

We developed an optimised blog post with key findings from the Strategic Radar Customer survey, which shared the views of global logistics service providers and goods owners, to maximise link building opportunities from the PR activity.

We’ve already secured coverage in core logistics titles, including Multimodal and Motor Transport.

Shouting about IPP’s eco credentials

Pallet pooling specialists IPP and its parent company Faber Group had some good news for our logistics PR team to share, after achieving a major sustainability landmark for fourth consecutive year.

It achieved a 2024 EcoVadis Platinum rating for its commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices, putting it in the top one per cent of the industry.

We helped them celebrate with top media hits in Sustainable Packaging News and the C&W Chamber of Commerce.

Coverage for good causes

We love helping our clients shout about the charities they support and October gave us the opportunity to highlight two great causes.

Blythe Liggins Solicitors helped the Myton Hospices open a new charity shop in Alcester, south Warwickshire.

The firm is a long-term supporter of the charity, working with it on new leases and lease renewals for its 26 shops.

We helped raise awareness of the new shop with coverage in the Stratford Observer and other local news titles.

Laura Turnbull

We also helped Linnaeus-owned Paragon Veterinary Referrals raise awareness of an annual bursary that has been set up in memory of veterinary nurse, Laura Turnbull.

News of the £1,000 bursary, which is open to veterinary nursing students at The College of Animal Welfare, was published in regional and trade titles, including the industry’s biggest publication, the Vet Times.

Broadcast coverage with a bang

With Bonfire Night on the way, our vet and pet PR team have been busy pitching in professional advice on keeping pets calm during fireworks.

As part of the campaign, we secured broadcast coverage for new Kidderminster veterinary practice Maggie and Marlow on Greatest Hits radio, with practice manager and veterinary nurse, Rhiannon Cartwright, sharing top tips for reducing stress.

R&Co get out and about

Half the R&Co team enjoyed a day out at the Greater Birmingham Chamber Expo this month.

Ian Gallagher was part of a PR panel discussing The Power of PR: Telling the Story of Your Business, alongside other Midlands PR specialists.

The discussion focused on how to develop compelling stories to shape and elevate an organisation’s narrative.

The rest of the team enjoyed meeting the local business community and sharing our expert knowledge, while SEO pro Jack Stocking’s dream came true when he met Santa (aka Jim Kringle) – it turns out even Father Christmas needs a little advice on his SEO!
