May PR coverage highlights at R&CO Communications

Miller Homes and Bodie Hodges Foundation

We’ve been bringing the sunshine for R&Co clients as we head into summer, by delivering some fantastic results. Here’s just a selection of the print, online and broadcast PR coverage we secured in May.

Miller Homes throws support behind local charity

Housebuilder Miller Homes East Midlands has partnered with Leicestershire-based child bereavement charity Bodie Hodges Foundation. It was founded by Donna and Nick Hodges after the death of their ten-month-old son, Bodie.

Local titles covered the news that Miller Homes would raise money for the charity through team, individual and sponsored events, along with fundraising days at its Derby offices.

It is the second time Miller has partnered with a child bereavement charity, after raising £26,000 for Sands in 2024.

FIRST LOOK AT WILLIAM DAVIS’ NEW LOUGHBOROUGH DEVELOPMENT

Further housebuilder PR coverage was given to William Davis, which opened its showhome to the public at its Garendon Park development. It will form part of the Garendon Country Park and when completed will consist of 3,200 homes, shops, a community hub, sports facilities and two primary schools.

The development has been years in the making and is being built in Loughborough, where William Davis is also based.

COST-SAVINGS ADVICE AND SUSTAINABILITY AT IPP

As the retail sector faced a low-growth year, IPP’s regional managing director Andy Maddock advised businesses to look to the retail supply chain to make savings.

Opinion pieces and PR coverage were picked up on a local and national basis, and extensively by trade press.

IPP’s name was further in the news for program manager Elliot Burnett becoming its first employee to complete Carbon Literacy training.

Online coverage in trade and local press highlighted the company’s dedication to sustainability.

LIFE-SAVING SURGERY FOR PUPPY BORN WITH RARE DEFECT

Local press were quick to pick up the story of Ginny, a six-month-old pup who was treated at Linnaeus-owned Paragon Veterinary Referrals in Wakefield for a life-threatening condition.

Congenital pleuroperitoneal diaphragmatic hernia caused Ginny’s stomach and spleen to end up in her chest through a defect in her diaphragm.

Vets David Barker and Davide Malucelli were quick to act and rushed Ginny to theatre, where they carried out life-saving surgery. The story (and some very cute pictures of Ginny!) were featured in local titles including The Yorkshire Post and Derbyshire Times.

LOFTY LEGAL ADVICE FROM BLYTHE LIGGINS

Warwickshire-based law firm Blythe Liggins secured coverage in Ideal Homes offering advice on whether neighbours can stop you from completing a loft conversion. Further coverage was given locally to Blythe Liggins’ involvement in Make a Will Week, which saw it raise money for Myton Hospice.

GROUND-BREAKING AI SOLUTION DEVELOPED BY CUSTOMS SUPPORT

Europe’s leading customs clearance and trade solutions firm Customs Support Group is rolling out advanced AI solutions to deliver efficiency savings.

So far, its Customs SmartAssist solution has been trialled in the UK, but will now be rolled out across 14 EU markets.

It aims to boost digitalisation in the customs industry and enhance documentation efficiency and quality, enabling faster movement of goods across borders. The news was covered extensively across logistics, business and local websites.
