R&Co’s August PR coverage highlights

August is called ‘silly season’ for good reason. While the nation hits the beach and Parliament takes a break, there are plenty more spare column inches for stories about shocked Brits finding an image of Jesus on their morning toast. Fortunately, there was no such silliness at R&Co last month – just a raft of outstanding media coverage generated by our expert PR team for our clients.

Talking alternative provision on BBC Radio Essex

We secured our client Hatfield Wick Education a slot on BBC Essex, where director of education Clay Calder chatted to Ben Fryer about alternative provision (AP).

Clay discussed one of the founding principles of the specialist school – that a long-term placement in AP can be exactly what a child needs to thrive, rather than a sign something has gone wrong.

You can listen to the interview on BBC Sounds, where Clay shares his own journey into specialist provision and why Hatfield Wick’s approach is built around helping children feel safe, seen and heard.

Equine expertise

Our client Hallmarq is a world leader in veterinary imaging and has launched a pioneering online tool for horse owners to educate them around the topic of lameness.

We supported Hallmarq as it launched the tool in the UK and US, and secured coverage in top-tier equine titles Your Horse, Horse and Hound, The Horse and EquiManagement.

A century of good news hits for Pallet-Track

August was an exceptionally busy month for our logistics client Pallet-Track and its shareholder members. We generated more than 100 media hits from a huge range of stories, including Pallet-Track expanding its partnership with the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and Walsall FC. We also secured coverage in the Yorkshire Post for Joda Freight and its investment in green technology, as well as Leicestershire-based Translink Express Logistics making four senior leadership appointments.

Simplifying a complex customs change

Businesses exporting goods into Norway will see a fundamental change to the country’s customs rules this month. The country’s Digitoll scheme has been labelled a ‘mini-Brexit’ in terms of its potential impact – so we helped our client Customs Support Group explain it in simple terms. Our advice piece landed coverage in several key multimodal media titles in the UK and Europe, including Trans Info, Logistics Manager, Air Cargo Week and Motor Transport.

Teeing off for two fantastic causes

The charitable folk at our housebuilding client William Davis Homes held not one but two golf days for good causes in August, raising money for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The two golf days earned coverage from key consumer and B2B titles including In Your Area and East Midlands Business Link.
