May PR coverage highlights at R&Co Communications

By Ian GallagherIn Media Relations, PR and CommunicationsPosted June 6, 2024
R&Co client Zak O'Sullivan won the Formula 2 feature race at Monaco.

What do Eurovision, the Northern Lights and the General Election all have in common? They were all big news in May – but we did our bit to secure plenty of headlines ourselves!

Read on to find out how we landed national coverage at home and across the pond, sporting column inches for a famous racing triumph and a brilliant collaboration between two of our clients…

moses walks in water

Moses the cat made waves for Avonvale Veterinary Centres with national and international coverage secured by our veterinary PR experts Tom Payne and Chris Box. The remarkable tale of the podgy puss undergoing hydrotherapy to try and lose weight really caught the imagination, with coverage from BBC News at home and the New York Post in the USA.

Marvellous Moses also racked up the column inches on the AOL, Yahoo! News and Talker websites, while appearing in the Daily Mirror’s print edition not once but twice!

monaco magic

Our client Zak O’Sullivan completed a stunning FIA Formula 2 victory in Monaco, his first win in the series and on one of the most prestigious weekends in motorsport, no less.

Zak qualified 15th on a track where it’s virtually impossible to overtake, but made his way to the front through a mix of speed, strategy and a little bit of Monaco luck.

Our resident petrolhead Ian Gallagher secured local headlines for Zak on SoGlos and Gloucestershire Live, as well as Yahoo! News nationally.

a record-breaking month

We achieved a record-breaking amount of coverage for our long-standing client Pallet-Track, with its news about investing in dual-branded livery securing premium news placements in key logistics titles.

Our logistics PR pro Sarah Ross secured nine online and two print placements from titles including Motor Transport and Commercial Motor, all as part of an incredible 56 pieces of earned media coverage across the month.

Pallet-Track is rolling out a joint livery across its network.

It's collab time...

Our pet-friendly interior design tips blog paired up two of our clients, national homebuilder Miller Homes and national veterinary group Linnaeus.

Registered veterinary nurse, Amelia Sherwood, lent her expertise to the blog to help home-buyers make pet-friendly decisions when decorating their new home – covering top tips for both dogs and cats.

It’s a great example of how to take two clients from completely different sectors and work our magic to create a piece of informative, shareable content. All thanks to our housing PR and social media pros Sam Smith and Komal Khedkar.

Check out our April PR highlights to see more of the brilliant work carried out by our team.
